Sephora Friends & Family Sale!

Sephora recently had their Friends & Family Sale, where customers are able to get 20% their entire purchase. I've never tried many brands from Sephora yet, but I have been eying these certain products for quite awhile! So, I hopped at the chance of this opportunity! :)

I'm not sure how often Sephora does these Friends & Family sales. If you know, please let me know! Thanks<3

^ Yayy! I got my package in the mail today!

I'm Back! & New Hair

Hello, hello! :)
I apologize for my long absence, but I have been completely swamped with school and work lately! :( I will try to post more frequently though because I realized that doing a blog post would be much faster than having to record, edit, and post a video on youtube. I will definitely try to get more videos up after my second rounds of midterms, but I'm apologizing in advance if I can't get those up quickly enough.. Anyway, I'M BACK! & I've missed you guys!<3

^ I've recently changed my hair color. It's a bright red/magenta color now. I did this myself at home, and I'm very surprised that it turned out as bright as it did! For the most part, it looks red but in certain lighting it looks pink. I'm happy with it, but I know that it will be difficult to maintain!

COMPLETED! Project "x" Pan

Project 10 Pan was created by lollipop26 from youtube. For those of you who don't know what Project "x" Pan is, it is when you use up x-amount of beauty products and you aren't able to buy any other items until you're done with the ones you already have.

My Project "x" Pan was from March 2011 to July 2011. I originally started out with 10 products. (Click here for the original post. I did end up switching out some of the items because I just wasn't using them enough.) After the completion of my first 10 products, I decided that I wanted to continue P10P because I wanted to use up more of the items that I already had. In total, I finished about 30 products (a few were mini size)! :) I am super happy about this because I didn't think I would be able to use up that many products!

Read on for my rules and pictures of the items I completed! :)

Cheshire Cat Inspired Look

I did this look inspired by the Cheshire Cat from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. The cat in the movie is pink and purple so I wanted to incorporate these colors into my look. Hope you like! :)

Face of the Day:

A pop of teal! :)

Lendi Exotic Lavander and China Glaze Broken Hearted Crackle

A cute and playful nail combination for summer! :)

I have been in love with China Glaze's Crackle nail polish in "Broken Hearted." It is a bright pink color that I think could go well with many colors! It's a great nail polish to use for the summer to brighten up your nails! :)

^ The base color I used is Lendi's "Exotic Lavender." On camera it comes off looking like a metallic silver, but it is actually a metallic lavender (just as the name describes). I'm not sure where you'd be able to purchase Lendi nail lacquers. I buy mind at my local beauty supply store.

When wearing any of the crackle polishes, I like to play around with textures. Most of the crackles that I have dry matte, so I would use a shimmer or a metallic color underneath. When using crackle polishes that are shimmery/metallic, I usually use a cream color as the base. With these polishes, there are plenty of ways that you can pick and choose colors though! Not one way is correct, so there are lots of options! I'm a big fan of the crackle/shatter polishes! :)

Sunless Tanning!

Since it's now finally summer, I've been wanting to try out some self tanners. After watching many reviews on youtube and doing a good amount of research, I finally decided on purchasing a drugstore tanning lotion. It is called the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for fair to medium skin tones.

Review: China Glaze Crackle Nail Polishes

After using OPI's Black Shatter, I really wanted to try out these Crackle Nail Polishes from China Glaze. I love the fact that there are more colors than just the normal black crackle, and that's what intrigued me the most about these China Glaze polishes.

OPI Teenage Dream

I have OPI's "Teenage Dream" on my nails at the moment. This nail polish came out with the Katy Perry Collection that was released in Spring 2011. This collection was inspired by Katy Perry's Teenage Dream album. The polishes were named after the songs on her album, which I think is super cute!

"Teenage Dream" is a very glittery pink nail polish. The color is similar to the pink clouds that are in her Teenage Dream video. The nail polish is a cotton candy color with large chunks of glitter and reflexes in it. I can't help but stare at my nails sometimes when I have it on because it's just so pretty and sparkly!

I applied two coats of this onto my nails in order to get it to the opaqueness that it is in the picture. I think next time I'm going to try 3 coats. You can also layer this color over a pink nail polish to give it a little sparkle! "Teenage Dream" isn't like any other polish I have in my collection. It's really unique! If you love pink and glitter then I definitely recommend that you run out and get this! :)

Face of the Day:

Products Used
Face:
-Olay Complete Moisturizer SPF 15 (combo/oily)
-Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sandstorm
-Maybelline Expert Wear Blush in Pinch o' Pink
Eyes:
-Random Silver Eyeshadow Color
-Maybelline Eyeshadow in Night Sky
-Covergirl Eyeshadow in Vanilla
-MAC Fluidline in Black Track
-Covergirl Lashblast Length in Black Brown
-ELF Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in Black
Lips:
-L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in 809
-MAC Lipglass in Tad Saucy

I wanted to create a look that would go well with my glasses. Since my glasses have a thicker frame, I chose a darker color to use all over my lid. This look was pretty simple. I only used 3 eyeshadows(a shimmery charcoal color all over the lid, a satin silver color as the transition color, and a vanilla color for the brow highlight). For my face, I only applied moisturizer and I used a pressed powder to help my skin from getting too oily throughout the day. I also used a pink blush just to give my cheeks a little flush to them. As for the lips, I used a lipstick that is a tad bit darker than my own lip color, and I topped it off with a shiny gloss. Overall, I think the look goes well with my glasses :)

Update: Project 10 Pan & MAC's Surf Baby Collection Anticipation!

To be honest, I don't think I'm doing too well as I would have liked. I don't wear a full face of makeup everyday when I go to class so it's been a bit difficult to use up all of my products! I think I'm going to switch my products around a little so that I'll be able to finish up 10 products by the end of the month!

On a side note, I'm really excited for MAC's Surf Baby collection for Summer 2011. The US launch date is on May 26th. I love the packaging! It's white with a surf board design on it with the MAC logo and a red hawaiian flower. I want to pick up the cheek powder, one of the studio careblend pressed powder, a lipglass, and maybe a few shadows.

I'm hoping that I'll be done with 10 items by then so that I'll be able to purchase a few things from this collection. Wish me luck!

An Apology.. & Shoe Haul! :)

I apologize for the lack of posts lately! :( I have been too consumed with work, school, & everything in between so I haven't had time to blog that much on here. I will definitely try to blog more often though!

Review: Rimmel's Clean Finish Foundation

My First Project 10 Pan!

For those of you who don't know what a Project Pan is.. It is when you chose how ever many items from your collection that you've either hit pan on or are close to finish using, and you don't buy any other makeup until those items are done with.

The reason why I wanted to do this because my collection has grown quite large and I've been neglecting my older products. I don't want to waste the products so I'm going to try to finish them! :)

Here's my list of 10:

- Olay Complete Moisturizer with SPF 15
- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sandstorm
- Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sunlight
- Covergirl Eyeshadow in Vanilla
- Maybelline Eyeshadow in Night Sky
- L'oreal Lipstick in 809
- Alba Lipbalm in Pineapple Quench
- L'oreal Decrease Eye Base
- ELF Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara in Black
- Covergirl Lash Blast Length in Black Brown

Wish me luck! :)

Randomness:

^ I like to dye my hair often so this time I chose to go back to getting high lights. It's a tad bit blonder than I wanted it to be, but I'll live. I'm still getting used to it though since I've had my hair a solid color for awhile. Overall, I really like it! (The lighting makes me look super pale..)

^ One of the things I love about this time of year: the delicious Easter candies that are available in stores during spring time! :) Robin eggs are one of my favorites, but you can only get them once a year (I really wish they'd be available year-round!). I usually end up buying a stash of Easter candy because they're so yummy! I will definitely be buying some more within the next few months!
